In 1984 I decided to change careers (my degree was in Electrical Engineering and I was getting tired of electronics). I heard about, applied, and received this new position that involved computers with the Wyoming Cooperative Extension System.  I started delivering and setting up IBM PC's with their gigantic 10 MB hard disks (who could ever fill up one of those?) to the far reaches of Wyoming.   We were paying more than $7,000.00 per machine in those days.   I placed machines in offices were the agent had complained when they had installed that new, and worthless, telephone thing several years back and now here was coming this new worthless machine.  I worked for Extension for fourteen years.   (I have paid my dues!)

After I left Extension, I received a contract to develop a new 4H data system that was not DOS based and would work on Windows.   During the work on this project I was contacted by another state that had heard I was doing this, and, as they say, the rest is history.

Today we work on a six computer fully networked system with our own raid level five dual processor web server.   Our goal is to continue to improve and adjust our products to meet your ever growing and changing needs for Extension software.

C & K Ventures is currently the fastest growing Extension Software provider in the Nation.   Our new web based products scheduled for release second quarter 2001 and our new Extension Master data system scheduled of release third quarter 2002 will not reverse this trend.
